The Naperville Lounge Company was purchased in 1902 by Peter Kroehler, a North Western College (now North Central College) graduate. Kroehler renamed the business the Kroehler Manufacturing Company and the business became one of the largest furniture manufacturing companies in the country. For many years, Kroehler was one of the largest employers in the Naperville area.

The Naperville Heritage Society's Kroehler Collection includes the company's corporate records, ledgers, 200 photographs, saleperson's catalogs, newsletters, magazines and samples of their advertisements through the years.
